F​uimos testigos de grandes eventos que se desarrollaron con gran éxito en Vallarta y Riviera Nayarit en las últimas semanas. Entre los que se destacan, por su impacto turístico, acudimos a un ​Importante FAM TRIP organizado por la OCV de Puerto Vallarta, junto con la empresa Bodas Destino Latinoamérica, ​que busca posicionar a nuestro puerto en el segmento de Bodas y luna de miel, sin duda, un gran acierto.
​Mexcorc, ​el Circuito Mexicano de Regatas Oceánicas, celebró con éxito sus casi treinta años de vida en las costas de Vallarta, donde veleristas de Canadá, Estados Unidos y México navegaron en las aguas de la bahía dejando una importante derrama económica en la región y una excelente promoción turística para nuestro destino.

​En lo particular, me llena de beneplácito el merecido homenaje que se realizó en honor de mi gran amigo Luis Reyes Brambila, ya que ahí se reconoció su incansable labor por la comunidad en el ámbito turístico y empresarial. No cabe duda que por su gran visión de periodista, tuvimos la fortuna de contar con el primer diario en Vallarta, que cambió para siempre la sinergia del lugar, ya que no solo vino a informar a una sociedad sobre el acontecer mundial y nacional, sino que fue el primer foro que generó cohesión social entre los vallartenses, el naciente sector turístico y los nuevos avecindados.
Vallarta Opina ha sido el principal  medio de promoción turística del puerto desde su aparición; gracias a sus conexiones con diferentes sectores ha sido posible para muchos, escuchar por primera vez  ponencias de ilustres escritores, intelectuales y politólogos de forma totalmente gratuita y abierta al público.
Pocos conocen la labor filantrópica de Luis Reyes, ya que siempre es discreto con sus dones, entre los que, por cierto, destacan las cientos de becas otorgadas en el colegio Americano, su participación como presidente del patronato de la Cruz Roja por muchos años, así como su papel como consejero de varias asociaciones civiles, siempre en apoyo de quien busca su mano amiga. Otro factor que debemos reconocer a Luis Reyes​ es que es el gran artífice del liderazgo de muchos personajes del actual Vallarta, pues a través de sus páginas se creó la imagen de hombres que, a simple vista, parecen ordinarios, pero que poseen un gran talento y ahora son una leyenda por obra y magia de Vallarta Opina bajo la mano de Luis Reyes. Tenemos con él, en fin, a un hombre que siempre es consultado por los  sectores político y empresarial cuando se trata de asuntos importantes para la región,  y a causa de su interés en el bienestar del destino, tema al que dedica gran parte de su tiempo y energía, y por lo cual se le reconoce como el gran promotor de Puerto Vallarta.

We witnessed major events that took place with great success in Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit in recent weeks. Among those who stand out  by its tourism impact, was an important FAM TRIP organized by the OCV of Vallarta, along with the company Bodas Destino Latin America, which seeks to position our port in the segment of wedding and honeymoon, no doubt, a great success.
Mexcorc, the Mexican circuit of ocean racing, celebrated successfully its almost thirty years of life on the shores of Vallarta, where sailors from Canada, United States and Mexico sailed in the waters of the Bay leaving an important economic impact in the region and an excellent tourism promotion for our destination.
In particular, it fills me with joy the tribute that was held in honor of my friend Luis Reyes Brambila, since his tireless work in the tourist and business community was recognized. There is no doubt that by his great vision of journalist, we had the fortune of having the first newspaper in Vallarta, which forever changed the synergy of the place, because it not only came to inform the society on global and national developments, but it was the first forum that generated social cohesion between the people of Vallarta, the nascent tourist industry and the new comers.
Vallarta Opina has been the main means of tourism promotion of the port since its inception; Thanks to his connections with different sectors has been possible for many to hear the presentations of distinguished writers, intellectuals, and political scientists, completely free and open to the public for the first time.
Few people know about the philanthropic work of Luis Reyes, since he is always discreet with his gifts, among which, by the way, include hundreds of scholarships at the American College, Chairman of the Board of the Red Cross for many years, as well as his role as Advisor to several civil associations, always in support of those who seek his helping hand.  Another factor that we must recognize to Luis Reyes is that he is the great architect of the leadership of many characters of Vallarta, because through its pages was created the image of men who, at first glance, seem ordinary, but possessed a great talent, and are now legends due to the work and magic of Vallarta Opina under the hand of Luis Reyes. Finally we have with him, a man who is always consulted by the political and business sectors when it comes to important issues for the region, and because of his interest in the welfare of the destination, theme that devotes much of his time and energy, he is recognized as the main promoter of Puerto Vallarta.
