Una vida de tristeza, resiliencia y fortaleza rodeada de glamour.
Gilberto nació en Ixtapa Jalisco el 25 de noviembre de 1943, en el seno de una familia humilde, religiosa y sumamente conservadora, su padre abandonó a su madre e hijos, lo que orilló que el pequeño Gilberto iniciara a trabajar a la corta edad de 3 años en el campo de cultivo de coco a lado de su madre.
Su infancia y adolescencia fue la etapa más difícil, marcada por un total desprecio familiar y discriminación del pueblo por prejuicios debido a su homosexualidad.
Creció haciendo largas jornadas de trabajo en el campo para sustentar su existencia y ayudar a su madre, a los cinco años de edad de manera innata hace su primera lectura de tarot, este le abre las puertas a un mundo misterioso en el cual las cartas le susurran hechos sorprendentes para él y sus consultantes, gracias a este don conoce a muchas personas, lugares y nuevos oficios: modelo, actor y cantante; Siendo esto último lo que le dio grandes satisfacciones durante 25 años al compartir escenarios con Estela Núñez, Lucha villa, Vicente Fernández y Juan Gabriel entre otros.
Entre sus idas y venidas de la capital a la costa, trabajó como cantante en diversos centros de espectáculos destacándose como cantante de música regional mexicana, participando en programas
de radio y televisión con la sección de horóscopos. De su vida en Puerto Vallarta destaca su gran amistad con la pintora Martha Gilbert, quién lo pintó durante varias etapas de su vida, también tuvo amistad con varios artistas de Hollywood y muchos extranjeros que lo buscan por su habilidad como vidente y tarotista don que ha ejercido por más de 75 años.
En 1982 modeló para la extinta Reina Isabel II cuando visitó Puerto Vallarta.
Desde niño tuvo una gran habilidad para dibujar rostros a lápiz y tinta, es su gran pasatiempo, ha plasmado los rostros de actrices y cantantes del espectáculo nacional e internacional , convivió con varias personalidades del cine nacional e internacional como María Félix, Carmen Salinas, Elsa Aguirre, Lucha Villa, Gastón Santos, Elvis Presley, Flor Silvestre, Liz Taylor, Richard Burton, Lisa Lory, Steven Spielberg, Keanu Reeves,vivió varios meses con Marilyn Monroe quién lo convirtió en su amigo y confidente antes de morir . La gran mayoría de ellos han solicitado sus servicios como tarotista y vidente
En Ciudad de México, durante su juventud se dio a conocer en el mundo del espectáculo participando como guionista y modelo de la famosa fotonovela “amores juveniles” historias de la vida real, publicación del periódico ¨El imparcial¨.
Participó en películas de la época de oro del cine mexicano como “La cucaracha”, “La vida difícil de una mujer fácil” protagonizada por Sasha Montenegro; ¨Noches de cabaret¨, ¨Sabor a mí¨ con José José, entre otras.
Aunque le fascinó la vida del espectáculo brindándole grandes amistades, viajes y experiencias, siempre ha tenido un gran hueco en su corazón, un vacío por la falta de amor y aceptación familiar, que siempre buscó y lo hizo regresar una y otra vez al lado de su madre, cuidarla en su vejez hasta su muerte en el pueblo que tanto lo humilló y rechazó.
Una vieja casa guarda sus grandes tesoros, fotografías, revistas y periódicos a lado de famosos, una vida excitante marcada entre el glamour y la discriminación sexual.

Gilberto was born in Ixtapa Jalisco on 25th November1943, within a humble, religious, and extremelyconservative family. His father abandoned his motherand siblings when he was very young, which led littleGilberto to start working at the age of 3 in the coconutcultivation field next to his mother’s house. He grewup doing long days of work in the fields to supporthis existence and help his mother.
When he was five years old, while doing his first tarot reading, he opened the doors to a world full of mysterious symbols, in which the cards whispersurprising facts to him and his consultants. Hischildhood and adolescence were the most difficultstages, marked by shame and discrimination due toprejudices regarding homosexuality.
But thanks to the tarot, he got to know many people, places, and that landed him many jobs: model, actor and singer; The last one being what gave him thegreatest satisfaction in life, Gilberto later in life got toshare stages with some of the greatest Mexican artistslike Estela Núñez, Lucha villa, Vicente Fernández and Juan Gabriel among other legends.
For 25 years, between his trips from la Ciudad de Mexico to PV, he worked as a singer in variousentertainment centers, stood out as a musicianin Mexican regional competitions, and in radio and television programs with the horoscope section.
What stood out in his life in Puerto Vallarta is hisgreatfriendship with the painter Martha Gilbert, whopainted him during various stages throughout his life. One crazy fact is that in 1982 he modeled for Queen Elizabeth II when she visited Puerto Vallarta.
Since he was a child, he had a great ability to drawfaces with pencil and ink, it is this
hobby which has captured the faces of actresses and singers of the national and international show business.He also cultivated friendships with severalHollywood artists and along with many foreignerswho continue to seek him for his ability as a psychicand
tarot reader, a gift that he has now been practicingfor more than 75 years. He lived several months withMarilyn Monroe who made him her friend and confidant before she died.
Gilberto has met several top personalities fromthe national and international cinema scene such as María Félix, Carmen Salinas, Elsa Aguirre, Gastón Santos, Elvis Presley, Flor Silvestre, Liz Taylor, Richard Burton, Lisa Lory, Steven Spielberg and Keanu Reeves, just to name a few big names. Most ofthem have requested his services as a tarot reader and psychic.
In Mexico City, during his youth he became known in the world of print media participating as scriptwriterand model for the famous fotonovela “youthful loves” stories from real life, publication of the newspaper “El impartial”.
He participated in films from the golden age ofMexican cinema such as “La cucaracha”, “Thedifficult life of an easy woman” starring Sasha Montenegro; ¨Cabaret Nights¨, «Sabor a mi» with José José, among others.
Although he was fascinated by the limelight, he has always had a big hole in his heart, an emptiness due tothe lack of love and family acceptance, back thenreality was way different than what we have now. Gilberto always sought after and returned again and again to his mother, to take care of her in her old ageuntil her death in the town that humiliated and rejectedhim so much.
Today his house keeps his greatest treasures, consisting of photographs, magazines and newspaperswhich tell the tale of his life alongside celebrities of a once exciting life marked between glamor and sexual discrimination.
